composition is scored for the right hand to interpret Modigliani’s
stretched bodies while the left hand plays a partition transcribing the
permanence of his figures’ faces.

The piece suggests the sensually evocative lines in Matisse’s works.

This composition for the left hand induces musically the tension evoked by the angular figures of Picasso’s cubist period

attempt to decipher attitudes: What is the woman thinking; what
has brought to her lips the letter she has just written?
